See previous day for full-text downloadable pdf of This Bridge Called My Back.
For our second day on Moraga and Anzaldúa’s anthology of writings by radical women of color, we will read:
The preface by Cherrie Moraga (not to be confused with the foreword to the second edition that we read earlier), pp. xii-xix; Audre Lorde, “The Master’s Tools Will Never Dismantle the Master’s House” (starts on p. 98); Norma Alarcón, “Chicana’s Feminist Literature: A Re-vision…” (starts on p. 182); Combahee River Collective, “A Black Feminist Statement” (starts on p. 210).
Discussion leaders should be sure to communicate/organize their time so that key ideas, questions, authors, and essays are not duplicated and receive equal attention.
